Steam enthusiasts gathered by the sides of the Hereford to Shrewsbury line to watch the pass by of the A4 Express Class “Sir Nigel Greeley” Named after its Designer. In 1959, Sir Nigel entered the record books for the fastest recorded speed of a steam locomotive while ‘in service’ at 112mph while pulling carriages full of passengers.
